Hanging with the Phoenix

One of the many things I enjoy about working on a local music scene is not only getting to see some awesome music, but also getting to know and hang out with these musicians as well. One of the many benefits of my relationship with the local music scene is the ability to get behind the scenes. This year I have been finding myself in lot of different places, hanging around recording studios, attending practice sessions, and even traveling to venues with the bands themselves. It’s an awesome learning experience. It’s a whole other world watching how records come together, and how musicians hone their craft. I would recommend it to you other music geeks out there. if have a music scene in your town, get involved. Trust me, you’ll love it.

One of my new favorite bands on the local scene is Fifty to Phoenix. A bunch of great guys who know how rock out. They were nice enough to let me hang out at a recent practice session. In the sideshow below are photos from this session, as well as some photos from their recent performance during The Fort Collins Music Experiment.
